Introduction Main Research Focuses Research Groups Publications
  1. Establishment of embryonic stem (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cell lines and investigation of molecular mechanisms controlling pluripotency and self-renewal;

  2. Differentiation of ES and iPS cells into cardiomyocytes, neural and hematopoietic lineages as well as dissection of underlying mechanisms at a molecular level;

  3. Investigation of signal transduction pathways of differentiation, apoptosis and self-renewal in hematopoietic stem cells using zebrafish as a model system;

  4. Isolation, purification and identification of adult stem cells; Discovery of new cell surface markers of adult stem cells; Application of adult stem cells in disease treatment;

  5. Immuno-associated studies in stem cell transplantation, particularly for the immuno-rejection problem;

  6. Isolation and identification of tumor stem cells to provide new drug targets for tumor treatment. Elucidation of molecular networks regulating tumor development to find new approaches for early diagnosis of tumors.
